A Reiki treatment

Reiki healing treatment

Prior to the Reiki healing session the practitioner would explain what the session entails and cost and would go through a short questionnaire with you – basic personal details and well-being questionnaire.  You would be asked to sign a ‘consent’ form indicating that you had requested the treatment and are happy to go ahead
During a Reiki treatment you will lie or sit comfortably and the Reiki practitioner will place their hands on or near your body, allowing the Reiki energy to flow to you. You do not need to remove any clothing except for coat and shoes. Often a light weigh blanket will be placed over you for comfort and there will be gentle soothing music playing.

Reiki can be used safely in conjunction with allopathic or conventional medicine.
It may help to speed up recovery times and reduce some uncomfortable symptoms, such as after surgery

Reiki complements many different forms of treatment, both conventional and complementary, often helping soothe the healing process.

If taking medication it is advisable to advise your medical professional that you are having Reiki.  In some cases, a Reiki Practitioner will request a letter from them advising that they are happy for you to receive the Reiki (this is especially so if you have a mental health team working with you)

How does Reiki healing work?

The Reiki Council definition of Reiki is – a natural healing energy that works on every level, not just the physical, and is understood to promote the body’s regenerative self-healing ability.
